GECA
GECA stands for Good Environmental Choice Australia. The Australian "Good Environmental Choice" program launched in November 2001 provides to the community an environmental mark of recognition for a wide range of products and services. The benefits of an independent environmental label is that all Australians can easily recognise products which are sensitive to environmental pressures. Australian Workstation Manufacturer's F2, F3, and F5 workstations are fully certified.

OUR ACCREDITATION VALUES
AWM is committed to adopting processes and practices aimed at reducing its environmental footprint.
One example is through our active involvement in recycling our board off-cuts. AWM aims to be a leader in its industry in applying the principles of environmental management to its operations. The aim of this Environmental Management System is to provide a vehicle for setting up processes consistent with the guidelines of ISO 14000, and to assist clients’ work towards a Green Star Rating.
Rationale for the EMS:
AWM’s commitment to improving its environmental performance grew out of an ongoing commitment to producing high quality products with minimal environmental impact. This commitment has been reinforced by the requirement to conform to increased demand for Green Star Ratings for buildings.
We are very conscious of the environment and pride ourselves in always looking for Greener ways to manufacture. We are in the process of getting our Green Choice Certificate and our EMS Certificate for the factory. All our screen systems are 95% recyclable and due to the huge aluminum component they will never end up as land fill.
At AWM we operate a strict OH&S procedures manual with weekly committee meetings - Safe Work Practice is what we are about. All our workstation systems are AFRDI approved and meet all Australian standards.
Policies:
AWM produced an Environmental Policy which commits the company to adopting environmental friendly practices in the office and the factory including
  • Use of natural lighting
  • Recycling packaging
  • Careful choice of materials
  • Designing Modular Reconfigurable Furniture
